Worst Air Crash in History Kills 130
A chartered Air France Boeing 707 crashed on takeoff from Orly Field in Paris killing 130 people including 121 Americans. Only two airline hostesses survived. The disaster, one of aviation history’s deadliest, occurred in bright weather as the plane dragged 300 yards before stopping near Villeneuve le Roi. Mayor Ivan Allen of Atlanta identified victims with officials from Air France and Paris authorities.

Kansas University Endowment Association reported endowment gifts nearing 2 million dollars for the year an all time high.
