Mrs Faye E K Olmstead 72 formerly of 1322 W 19th St Terr died Friday in Cumberland Maryland. Funeral services are Monday at 2 PM at Rumsey Funeral Home with Donald Cashatt in charge. Burial at Deay Cemetery. She is survived by husband Nelson H Olmstead and daughter Mrs Dorothy Thompson both of Cumberland.
Funeral services for Jesse H Wells 72 of Route 1 are set for 10 am Monday at Lawrence Heights Christian Church Rev Don Vans presiding. Burial follows at 3 pm Monday in Yates Center. Wells, WWII veteran, was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Enrollment for the Lawrence instrumental music summer program is Monday from 8 am to noon and 1 pm to 4 pm in room 132 at Lawrence High School. The seven week session runs to July 21 for students in grades 4 through 11. Morning 45 minute classes focus on starting instrument instruction. A beginning piano class for grades 3 through 6 is available in 30 minute sessions at Cordley School, Monday through Friday.

The accident occurred between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. His truck rolled into Muddy Creek. He left a wife Mavis, a daughter Sheila, his mother Catherine, three sisters Irene Irene Newell Evelyn Scharmek Irma Moriarity, and six brothers Andrew Earl Francis Raymond Leo. Burial is planned at Mount Calvary Cemetery Topeka with rosary at Hampton Funeral Home.
Susan Herz a Kansas University sophomore reported Friday evening theft of 750 in traveler's checks and a 10 passport from her Lewis Hall dormitory room. She discovered the theft Thursday afternoon police said.

Barton Mann, a taxi driver, was shot three times after demanding the return of his billfold containing $63. Police said two bandits relieved him of the wallet and money. one assailant returned the billfold and fired hitting his left leg twice and right hand once. Mann received hospital treatment and was released.
Marshal of the Royal Air Force Lord Tedder a World War II leader and deputy supreme Allied Commander under Eisenhower died at 76 in Banstead England after a period of poor health. He helped coordinate air power with ground forces and pioneered the bomb carpet tactic in the North African campaign to clear mine fields for infantry and tanks.

Ralph G. Achning 75 of 846 Missouri Street a Lawrence hardware store operator and local horse show official died this morning at Samaritan Lodge after a long illness following a stroke. He owned Achnings Hardware at 822 Mass Street and was active in Plymouth Congregational Church Masonic Lodge Scottish Rite Eastern Star Elks Lodge and American Legion. He was WWI veteran. Funeral 10 a.m. Tuesday Rumsey Funeral Home Rev John Febble. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery. Survived by Cloyd of the home two brothers Carl W. Achning 844 Ark Street and Walter J. Achning San Antonio Texas and two nieces.
