KU Students to Join Glee Club for All University Supper
Two Kansas University students from Lawrence and Osawatomie join the KU 1926 Glee Club for the All University Commencement Supper at the Kansas Union. Bruce Gardner and Charles Rogers hold Larremore Scholarships and will perform with 35 alumni from 1923 to 1928, at a reunion with four prior events. The group, directed by Prof. Tom Larremore, has historical ties as Missouri Valley champions and features many professional musicians. Ernest Griswold oversees arrangements with LaVere Calkins and Corlett J. Cotton, Eldridge Hotel hosts the reunion.

Mrs Gertrude Coy, head of the Social Studies Department at Lawrence High School, was awarded the Valley Forge Class room Teachers Medal and citation from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge for outstanding work to cultivate understanding of the American way of life. She is one of ten Kansas teachers honored this year.

Thomas Green Chance 78 a Linwood resident and retired railroad man died at home in Linwood. Born April 21 1882 in Linwood his funeral is 2 pm Sunday at Linwood Baptist Church with Rev Harry Colas and burial Mt Sidney Cemetery. Survives brother Clinton E Chance. Quisenberry Funeral Home of Tonganoxie in charge. Ward reports the death of Dr Viktor Lowenfeld on May 26 chairman of Penn State Art Education and former KU lecturer. He suffered a heart attack in April and spoke at KU in February and at earlier conferences.

Railroad Engineers Win 4 Percent Pay Increase
A six member arbitration board in Chicago awarded a total 4 percent wage rise to 40 000 railroad engineers in two steps, 2 percent from July 1 and 2 percent from March 1 1961. The settlement also blocks a 15 cent an hour wage cut. The ruling may set patterns for 760 000 workers in the operating side including firemen trainmen conductors brakemen and switchmen.
