The Marais des Cygnes river rose over Ottawa Kansas causing three feet of street flooding while parts of Osawatomie faced eight feet over banks. By June 3 the water began receding slowly in Ottawa and upstream toward Osage.

Red Cross officials announced 10 000 was appropriated for relief of flood and tornado victims in Colorado Nebraska and Kansas.
