Lawrence protest on Massachusetts Street demonstrates solidarity

Thousands marched from Lawrence City Hall down Massachusetts Street to South Park in a peaceful demonstration in solidarity with Black Lives Matter. Organizers including Azja Butler, a KU student, praised the crowd’s safety while noting some felt unheard and that police could have been more present. There were minor incidents including a vehicle briefly injuring a marcher and one driver suspected of scaring protesters, but no confirmed violence or arrests reported.
