Missing KU student Yelekal Alemu identified as body found near Lawrence
Douglas County authorities identified 23 year old former Kansas University student Yelekal Alemu as the body found Thursday in a wooded area south of the Wakarusa River near Douglas County Road 1057 east of Lawrence. Coroners used dental records for identification and said no foul play is indicated. Alemu had been missing for nearly three weeks after last being seen May 12 and his car was found southeast of Lawrence. His friend Gizaw Gizaw recalled Alemu as a “life of the party” figure who worked at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Memorial space flight for Steve fulfills final wish
A widow recalls planning a posthumous Earth orbit memorial for her husband Steve, using Celestis Inc. to launch his ashes. Family travel to Cocoa Beach coincides with a Falcon 9 mission, delayed twice but finally lifting off to honor those who loved space. The ceremony blends grief with communal tribute as loved ones watch the ascent.
