Preschool consolidation sparks district shift in Lawrence
A Lawrence school board plan to convert East Heights into a preschool hub follows closing Riverside and Centennial as elementary schools. About 150 children may enroll by August as Head Start and other programs move to East Heights, with Parents as Teachers and Even Start relocating from the Del facility. The move aims to save costs and consolidate resources, though parents fear loss of neighborhood-school access and space.
