Last Titanic survivor dies in England at 97
Southampton resident Sy Meera Selva and Jill Lawless report that London-Millvina Dean, the last survivor of the 1912 Titanic sinking, died in her sleep at Woodlands Ridge Nursing Home. She was 97, wrapped in a sack into lifeboat 13 as a baby, and later learned of her voyage’s fatal end at age eight. Dean survived with her mother Georgette and brother Bertram, while her father perished.
