Kiss Me Kate at Lawrence Community Theatre blends eras on stage
Lawrence Community Theatre opens Kiss Me Kate with a play within a play, pairing 1940s Baltimore Broadway style with Shakespearean satire. Curtis Marsh as Fred Petruchio navigates cross era lines while Mary Doveton directs a heat filled production about a divorced couple reuniting in a Shakespeare setting. The cast includes Lili and Bill Calhoun in a melodramatic comedic plot involving gangsters and a $10,000 debt.
