EU paleontologists confirm a bone long called Bigfoot is the foot of a brachiosaur discovered in the Black Hills of Wyoming twenty years ago. The huge foot, nearly a meter wide, is the largest dinosaur foot on record and was identified in PeerJ. Burnham, KU preparator, notes other giants may exist but their feet are not preserved.
Lawrence sustainability officials move to study and restrict single use plastics. The Sustainability Advisory Board formed a community work group to examine plastic bags straws and food containers as calls for a bag ban rise from local groups.
Lawrence plans later bus service on seven routes with campus stops. Six routes will run until 10 p.m. during the academic year and a late night weekend route will be added. The city coordinates with the University of Kansas for campus connections.
