About 10,000 unincorporated residents will gain access through a new pilot in Douglas County. Drop-offs will be at Lecompton United Methodist Church Lawrence Wakarusa Valley School and Vinland Fairgrounds. Costs could range from 6300 to 18900 annually.

Police chased an SUV that deflated tires and refused to stop, traveling left of center on Sixth Street before stopping near Michigan Street. Three suspects fled. two males and a female were later found on Sixth Street and Florida Street. One male was subdued with a Taser, then detained. All three were to be transferred for prosecutorial review in Shawnee. names were not released.
