Judge orders new trial in sexual battery case
A Douglas County judge granted 28 year old Jason Ellison a new trial after hearing witnesses who through fresh statements said the charges were untrue. Ellison was convicted in 2006 of aggravated sexual battery and sentenced to 22 years. The Kansas Court of Appeals upheld the conviction despite the new evidence. Prosecutors will review the ruling and decide on next steps after meeting with the victim.
