A 22 year old Lawrence woman told police a man assaulted her around 8 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of Wisconsin as she moved belongings from a house to a truck. She said the suspect struck her with fists and a tire tool on her face, shoulder, and back. No arrests have been made.
Randall L. Reed, 21, was placed on probation for 30 days and fined $100 for hitting and threatening his former girlfriend. The Douglas County District Court ordered payment of court costs, with permission to work in lieu of the fine. The 18 year old Lawrence woman said Reed struck her with a wooden cane and his fists after an argument at his home on July 6.
A Washington report notes an experimental drug increases sexual desire in women and restores potency in men. The American Chemical Society Magazine cites cases where women with no prior erotic feelings experienced restored desire and normal sexual activity.
A six year old girl Kasi Croft was hospitalized in fair condition after a timber wolf escaped its enclosure during cleaning at a Pocatello zoo. Police and park staff subdued the wolf as the girl suffered lacerations to head shoulder and hand while sitting near bird cages. The incident prompted authorities to review cage procedures and worker vigilance.
Israeli forces say eight Arabs linked to two Naif Hawatma faction cells carried out ten terrorist actions. One cell in Nablus bombed a Tel Aviv market injuring 11 and earlier killed a woman in Petah Tikva. The second cell in Ramallah conducted six bus bomb attempts.
