Orry W. Owen 75 of 339 Elm Street died this morning at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Born in Douglas County he spent most of his life here except for a few years. He was a Spanish American War veteran and longtime county assessor and bailiff. Surviving are his wife Edith, daughter Virginia Monson, sister Mrs. Charles Edgar, and brother C. B. Owen. Funeral Saturday at 2 p.m. Rumsey Funeral Home. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery. Dr. Eugene Briggs, Lions president, urged local support for United Nations at Lions International convention.
