Dr Vernon M Diel Opens New Dental Practice

Dr Vernon M Diel of 3012 W 7th St will start a dental practice at 2323 Ridge Court in the latter part of next week. Crouse Appointed Lansing Warden

Sherman Crouse, acting warden at the State Penitentiary in Lansing, named new warden to replace Tracy Hand who resigned July 1. Kenneth B. Horton named deputy warden to succeed Crouse. Horton, 34, of McAlester Oklahoma, comes from the Oklahoma Penitentiary where he held roles as guard sociologist and chief of classification.

Car overturns on Clinton road injures Everett Barnes

Everett Barnes, 22, of Route 5, escaped serious injuries after his 1949 car hit a culvert and overturned in a ditch about 44 miles southwest of Lawrence on Clinton road. He required no treatment and the vehicle was demolished, according to the Sheriff's Office.
