The Firebird will feature black brick aluminum and glass, open flame decor, a diamond pool, and full air conditioning. Plaza Club will include two pools with year round use. completion slated for September, ahead of Firebird.

KU Reactor Unit Released Today
The Kansas University nuclear reactor was turned over to KU officials by Bendix Corp Research Laboratories Division. The 10 kilowatt swimming pool reactor went critical at 3 49 p m on June 24 1961 and will be used to study nuclear technology and train students. KU representatives at start up included Dr. Russell B Mes ser and Dr. Harold Rosson from the Chemical Engineering Department.
