Local officials challenge Levi's view on crime rise in early 1975 arguing statistics show mixed trends. They cite a 38 percent property crime rise and 16.1 percent five month gain with burglary and grand larceny up while robberies fall, attributing much to the economy and student population in Lawrence.

Reports from AP describe Friday night terror attacks in Buenos Aires using bazookas fire bombs and machine guns on the eve of Eva Peron's death anniversary leaving three dead and five injured. Local authorities did not provide additional details on casualties.
Kenneth L. Gray a 25 year old of 1113 N 41st was taken into custody by Lawrence police after locking himself inside a car about to be towed by Crystal Motors. He resisted officers and was booked on interfering with police duties and resisting arrest held on 450 dollar bond.
Special Watergate prosecutor Henry S. Ruth said Nixon’s 11 hours of grand jury testimony from June in San Clemente will stay secret for now as no law allows public release. Ruth noted ongoing questions about the White House tapes gap and BoBoze dealings and outlined plans for a narrow final office report.
