Notable Dexter linked to Stan Laurel and family notes
LtD (Ret) and Mrs. Wade Dexter recently returned from a five day California vacation. Col. Dexter, aide administrator at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, attended a San Francisco medical seminar and met Mrs. Stan Laurel in Santa Monica. Mrs. Laurel remains in touch since 1965, living alone near the ocean among Laurel and Hardy memorabilia. Richard N. Talmage earned a MS in electrical engineering from Stanford and will work at Bell Labs in Columbus in September. Mrs. Neal Wherry is his grandmother. Phyllis Talmage is his mother and a former Lawrence resident. Friends opened the Brenda B. Therapy Fund at First National Bank to aid Brenda Breithaupt recovering from a July stroke at KU Medical Center.
