Vaccination Special Passengers Pick Up Smallpox Shots
The Santa Fe tour train carrying 171 travelers including Lions Club members and an American Express tour group received vaccinations after a passenger, Ray Thompson of Chicago, was found to have smallpox in New Mexico. All on board were vaccinated except the engineer and fireman as doctors freed the cars after disinfection.
