Kansans watch for Holcomb coal plant completion
Environmentalists claim obstacles remain for Sunflower Electric Power Corp to finish the Holcomb plant despite a House farm bill provision aimed at easing federal oversight. Rep Tim Huelskamp argues the measure helps rural coops, while opponents cite courts and EPA hurdles plus new Colorado renewable standards. The project, proposed since 2007, faces a prolonged battle over environmental impact and regional energy needs.
