Higher education advocates Citizens for Higher Education graded lawmakers on votes including the ascension state sales tax increase and related budget. The Kansas Chamber PAC endorsed Republicans who voted for and against the tax, arguing for business funding of government and growth.
The Hutchinson News editorial board withdrew its endorsement of Tracey Mann in the Republican primary for Kansas 1st District after Mann questioned President Obama's citizenship on a Salina radio show. Mann urged Obama to reveal his papers to end the birther issue.
