KU law school project for Innocence and Post-Conviction Remedies wins a federal appeal for Kimberly Sharp. Abby West, KU Law graduate, helped collect cases showing wrongful convictions. The 10th U S Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver ruled Sharp was unconstitutionally convicted.
City commissioners rejected a proposal to build a central transit hub at 21st and Stewart in east Iowa Street, offering no clear alternative site. Transit chief Robert Nugent cited cost and alignment with KU plans, while residents urged Centennial Park near Ninth and Iowa as a viable option. Community opposition cited lack of amenities and added traffic concerns.
