Lawrence man reports theft of wallet with 12 $100 bills
A 49 year old Lawrence man told police his tri fold brown leather wallet containing twelve $100 bills was taken between 10:00 and 10:10 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Massachusetts Street. Losses listed at $1,227. Fire crews from three townships fought a grass fire west of Lawrence Sunday afternoon, consuming a little over an acre after an electrical line sparked a tree. Crews from Kanwaka Township, Lecompton, and Wakarusa responded. two outbuildings were threatened but not burned, and the scene was cleared by 3:11 p.m.
