Eight Airmen Die in Crash Near Fort Riley
TOPEKA eight airmen were killed when a B 29 Superfortress crashed and burned about 1 p m Tuesday ten miles southeast of the base near Forbes Field. Witnesses described flames, an in flight fire, and the jet wing tearing away as the wreckage was strewn across a cornfield and pasture. Military officers confirmed eight aboard and reported no survivors while air police sealed the scene.

In Dodge City a collision Saturday night near Dodge City claimed the life of Peter Delgado of Minneola and Ras. Delegado. Ages 10, his daughter was injured but expected to recover.
