Regents hire decision narrows to two KU or state official
The Kansas Board of Regents will decide Thursday morning whether to hire Kim Wilcox interim executive director and KU professor or Joe Birmingham former assistant commissioner of the State Board of Education as permanent director. Chair Bill Docking said two candidates were the only ones interviewed in Tuesday’s executive session. Wilcox has led since May after Tom Bryant’s year as interim director. Bryant left to become Pittsburg State University president.
