Ground beef recall expands as E coli linked illnesses rise
ConAgra recalls 354000 pounds of fresh and frozen ground beef nationwide over E coli concerns, with Hy Vee and Perishable Distributors of Iowa receiving portions. Officials confirm 16 to 17 illnesses in Colorado linked to tainted meat and note up to 19 million pounds produced between April 12 and July 1. Veneman calls the move precautionary while investigation at the Greeley plant continues.
