Fifty five hundred women will man vital army posts by January 1 as the WAAC program opens at Fort Des Moines. Mrs Oveta Culp Hobby announced 20 companies of 150 WAACs each totaling 3000 women will be on duty, with another 2500 to aircraft and warning service along the Atlantic coast. Training will start this week with eight week civilian and four week auxiliary courses.
