Reservoir recovers year after storm at Cheney State Park
A year after a July 3 2005 storm damaged boats cabins and the Cheney Reservoir marina recovery is evident but full patronage has not returned. Snyder's Marina rebuilt three large docks and new covered docks while patrons return. Marina occupancy sits around 60 percent, versus 97 percent last year. Park trees were knocked down but structures withstood the storm. Local residents note improved facilities but warn against unpredictable Kansas weather.
