Mines in Harbor Exploded at Santiago De Cuba

From harbor at Santiago de Cuba, Spanish mines were detonated after steam launches entered the entry and British, American, and Spanish observers watched. Fortifications proved less formidable than feared, Morro Castle largely destroyed, and surrender of allied forces followed with occupation arrangements and plans for port open access.
