31st Street closure for repairs and repaving
A busy Lawrence stretch of 31st Street will be closed for more than two weeks starting Monday to repair and repave from Louisiana Street to Haskell Avenue. The edge-of-town section, also called North 1300 Road, will receive a two inch asphalt layer and new lane markings after Douglas County funds a 385000 job. The road should reopen August 3 with 2600 tons of asphalt and broader shoulders officials say the work will extend the life of the road.
