Clinton aide testifies on Whitewater withdrawals

White House aide Bruce Lindsey told a Little Rock jury that Clinton 1990 gubernatorial campaign used 525,000 in cash withdrawals plus 20,000 kept in a safe for last-minute get-out-the-vote spending. He said secrecy was sought to deter opponents from learning of the withdrawals, and acknowledged the May 30 000 and November 22 500 totals. He defended filing campaign finance reports in June and December 1990 while acknowledging the primary election report did not itemize the withdrawals, as Perry County Bank faced IRS reporting questions over the cash movements.
