Paris July 17 UPi The French chamber of deputies voted nationalization of the arms industry by 484 to 85 backed by Premier Leon Blum's leftist government. The bill imposes strict government control on major armament plants and naval yards. Edouard Daladier urged passage, warning there will be no recourse against the state run munitions industry.

Woman Wounded Porter To State Hospital
Mrs. Mary Britton a 44 year old Kansas resident who shot a train porter in Council Grove was ordered to the state hospital for criminal insane at Lansing after a court hearing found her incapable of understanding her actions. Charles Pennington of Kansas City was wounded in the cheek when he tried to keep her on the train bound for Salt Lake City. Lee Britton her former husband traveled from Chattanooga for the trial and described her as acting queerly.
