Time's changes end Saxman Kansas town's heyday
Saxman a Kansas town born in 1888 by Frisco railroad declined not by violence but by progress. After a 1930s fire and flood, mobility to cities via cars drained residents. Once 200 people strong with elevators and a mill, Saxman faded as commerce and rail connections shifted, leaving a memory in Lyons and Sterling.
