Wichita Official Is Named in Suit
A suit to oust Floyd Schroeder Sedgwick County commissioner from office for willful misconduct and neglect of duty was filed in the Kansas Supreme Court by Attorney General Robert Sonderholm. The case accuses Schroeder of continuing business with Sedgwick County after his election through a sham company with his nephew to cover his interest and of approving inflated purchases. The suit claims he sought reelection with false statements and concealment of misconduct, and notes a roughly 400000 shortage between inventory and ledgers for the county engineering department. Schroeder is serving his second term ending January 1969.
