CAB Approves Extra Flights to Ease Air Traffic Jams
The Civil Aeronautics Board granted 13 supplemental airlines authority to operate nearly 100 routes from five struck carriers for 90 days. Reservations open immediately on most major coast to coast routes as union negotiations continue. The walkout by 35 000 machinists began July 8 at Eastern National Northwest Trans World and United airlines.
