The Kansas Corporation Commission approved ITC Great Plains 122 mile high voltage line from Spearville substation to northern Clark County and Thistle substation east of Medicine Lodge. Route changes raise cost to about 302.07 million with 1.87 million extra. ITC will start landowner easement talks soon. construction expected spring 2013, line active in 2014.
