Nine Months film review lacks laughs and coherent charm
The Nine Months review finds Hugh Grant’s film overextended and humorless as it adapts Parenthood tropes. Samuel Faulkner, a child psychologist, and Rebecca Taylor face an unplanned pregnancy, while colleagues Marty and Gail provide cliché counterpoints. director Chris Columbus relies on old songs to push sentiment, but the result remains hollow.

Nine Months at Dickinson Theaters review notes
A child psychologist flirts with panic when his partner becomes pregnant. Cusack earns praise for subtle facial acting while Moore struggles with weak material. Grant overacts with twitchy scenes as the film delivers a mixed, slightly tedious baby comedy. Overall the mood is weary, with the audience eager to end the screening.
