Royals end Lind dispute by placing Lind on waivers

Kansas City Royals moved Jose Lind to waivers for his unconditional release after placing him on the disabled list list in June. Lind, 31, had been on the disqualified list since June 4 following a missed game amid personal distress from a divorce filing. The players association filed a grievance claiming emotional stress caused the absence. If unclaimed, Lind’s $2.6 million salary for the rest of the season would be paid by the Royals. The club also LF Chris Haney to the 15-day DL with a back injury and activated Greg Gagne to fill his roster spot.
