City asks planners to reconsider new zoning district
Lawrence city commissioners on Tuesday night sent a proposed new zoning district back to planning commissioners 3 to 0 to reconsider. The district would allow triplexes on small lots in Oread and has split opinions among residents and officials. If planners reject again, the city commission will decide final approval, with debates over downzoning and unit size.
