Vandals damage Eudora stadium costing 25000 dollars
Vandals caused at least 25000 in damage to the new Eudora District Stadium prompting closure to the public. Superintendent Don Grosdidier said the facility, funded by a 2007 bond and opened last fall, will be shut while cleanup and security improvements are planned as police investigate and seek tips from the public.

Lawrence man pleads no contest in teen sex case
Devin Rapp, 26, of Lawrence, pleaded no contest to aggravated indecent liberties with a child for a seven week sexual relationship with a 14 year old girl at a west Lawrence apartment. District Judge Kay Huff accepted the plea and warned of a possible 31 months to 11 years in prison with sentencing set for Sept. 16. He must register as a sex offender. Prosecutors noted no charges would be filed in a second investigation.
