County weighs trimming road and bridge fund cut
Douglas County commissioners debated 2019 budget choices and opposed the proposed $14 million cut to the public works road and bridge capital fund. Commissioner Thellman urged reducing the cut by $740,000 while preserving jail overcrowding solutions and maintaining the 46.018 mill levy. The panel approved $1.9 million for behavioral health, including plans to repurpose state housing grants and a future group home as part of a broader campus project.
