A 40 piece Lions Club band from Ottawa Kansas represented in a Lions International parade in New York City on Wednesday marching 37 blocks in rain. The group left Ottawa Monday and plans to return Sunday after a Washington stopover. The parade lasted over three hours with bands from many states and countries. A lift failure at the Empire State Building trapped 15 youths. two later walked 82 flights to the ground. The band performed at state breakfasts, toured Radio City, and appeared on television.
