Topeka July 9. Philip T Lawlor acting director for the U S employment service in Kansas cites figures showing Kansas remains agricultural but is rapidly becoming industrial. From March 1940 to June this year employment in Kansas industry rose 63 000, with a predicted 60 000 more by June next year. Total employment increased from 584 000 in March 1940 to 642 000 last month, with agriculture at 179 000 and other industry at 463 000. Unemployment fell from 85 000 in 1940 to 21 000 last month.
