Fugitives Tell How Bank Robberies Fueled Escape Plan
Enid Oklahoma July 9 A demented pair from Minnesota Barker-Karpis gang led a spree across Oklahoma and Kansas. Donald Reeder, one surviving fugitive, described rivering a $10,000 Concorila bank job. De Vol was killed by police after shooting Enid officers. Reeder recounted robberies in Little River Turon and Pond Creek and a Perry encounter that left him wounded. He blamed unemployment for his crimes and outlined their escape to Mexico along with Sorako and other inmates from the Minnesota hospital for the criminally insane.
