45 May Be Lost In New York Floods
The flood in upstate New York left 45 dead or missing as fires, disease, and water shortages disrupted relief efforts. Steuben County reported a $4 million loss with total property damage over $10 million and about 2,000 homeless. Red Cross, FEMA, CCC and state agencies mobilized, while towns faced ruined homes, water boil advisories, and planned train resumption by nightfall. A separate divorce suit names Madaline Marts and Aubrey Marts amid the disaster coverage.
