Topeka July 5. Millers from across Kansas join the Millers National Federation aimed at promoting foreign markets. H A Kennedy of Chicago notes urgency as England taxes bread and dams wheat to curb American flour. The Sisto Millers Association holds its snowal convention today as Kansas City millers reelect Charles L. Ross as general manager for the coming year.

Fisher tells wild tale of plot to assassinate McKinley

Canton Ohio July 9 George Fisher who claims Pittsburg as home says he tried to see Mrs McKinley yesterday to disclose a plot behind her husband’s assassination. The porter said she was too ill. Fisher then told Mayor Robertson that he had come from Cleveland after a dodgy successful attempt and that anarchists demanded 69000 to reveal a plot with additional assassination attempts alleged. Town officials helped escort him out of the city.

Six farmers jailed in Kansas for Elgin Bank plot

Sheriff and posse arrest six farmers near Cigin Kas in a conspiracy to rob the Elgin State Bank. Named detainees include Robert Niblock Gaorga Niblock Julia W. Swinney and sons Tom Lane and Ike. Preliminary hearing set for July 16 with $1,000 bonds. Six others at large.

Prisoners Blow Wall In St Joseph Jail Escape Attempt

Chaos broke out at St Joseph jail when inmates dynamited the rear wall and damaged the courthouse. Deputies with Winchesters repelled the prisoners, jailer John Thames sealing the scene. Poles Cut Down Spark City Hall Court Action

In Wichita on July 9 a tense clash arose between police and Missouri and Kansas Telephone Company workers. Police cut and removed poles in alley between Main and Market while company crews planned replacements. District Manager Duggan opposed police action and resisted officers. A supervisor and workers were arrested for unsanctioned electrical work and jailed on $800 bond.

Democratic Judicial Convention Concludes Nominations

Springfield Missouri reports eight ballots at the Democratic state judicial convention. Gavoon Bure Ross of Chillicothe named chief justice, Leroy B. Valliant of St. Louis and James D. Fox of Fredericktown among nominees. Woodson led in votes but failed to secure nomination. Burgess later nominated unanimously. Seibert urged votes for Woodson without result.

Hazel Wood stock, a 16 year old daughter of Mrs. M E Woodstock, elopes with 16 year old Clarenca Mico from Janesville Wisconsin. A posse pursues Tracy after he fled from a loop near Black River ten miles from hers about 10 o clock this morning. Officers from the sheriff’s office arrested Thomas Madden Phillip Ritchie and Andy Nolice for aiding the escape. Morrill, identified by a Salon penitentiary worker, is traveling with Tracy and joined him Monday night near Boston.
