Centennal Anniversary Burnings Noted at Bridgeport

Bridgeport Connecticut marked the one hundredth anniversary of Fairfield burning by militia troops under Tryon with a court house green ceremony and a banquet before inmates were confined to the Penitentiary. In New York Madame Berger received twelve years in state prison for death by medical malpractice of Cora Bammis, and accomplice Frank Cosgrove was sentenced to four years.

Railer Explosion Kills Engineer in Kentucky Mill

July 8 report from Carlyle Kentucky states the boiler of a steam pouring mill exploded this morning killing engineer James Summers who was thrown forty feet and died within two hours. Loss to mill and machinery estimated at five hundred dollars.
