Royals rally falls short in 8-7 loss to Tigers
In a tight nine, Yuniesky Betancourt nearly delivered a three-run homer for Kansas City at Comerica Park. Austin Jackson tracked down Betancourt's drive and then Moustakas' sacrifice fly to end the threat as Detroit held on. Prince Fielder and Delmon Young provided the big blasts for the Tigers, who led most of the night and withstood a late Royals surge. Royals drop to 2-7 on this stretch with one game remaining before the All-Star break.
