An advertising executive Richard Shenkman held his ex wife Nancy Tyler hostage for hours during a Hartford area standoff. After missing a court hearing in a contentious divorce they burned the house while authorities evacuated the neighborhood. Shenkman was carried away by ambulance as gunfire and explosions occurred. Tyler escaped earlier and a priest was reportedly present.
