Kansas couple showcase private art in Beach Museum exhibit
The Beach Museum of Art at Kansas State University highlights nearly 50 pieces from Bill Tsutsui and Marjorie Swann in Making Kansas Home through Aug 26. The pair, KU English professor and KU history department chair, began collecting pre 1970s Kansas art after moving to Kansas in 1993, later expanding to Great Plains artists and Kansas pottery. They source works from estate sales, flea markets, artist homes, and online auctions, aiming to tell Kansas stories through their collection.
